UPDATE - After reviewing Gloucester City meeting minutes we have found that Councilman Hutchinson is still voting to approve payments to Dave's Towing (the councilman also "resides " with this vendor) How can this be legal???
We have also found that the address the vendor uses on his invoices does not exist on Gloucester city tax records. As per the cities towing ordinance it states the vendor must maintain a storage lot in Gloucester city, so if there is no record of said property on the tax rolls then how can this be legal???
Again this administration covers up any wrong doing.
This letter was sent to Gloucester City Mayor & Council
To whom it may concern,
I wanted to know if any laws were being broken by councilman Hutchinson residing with the owner of Dave's auto repair and towing as that company is a vendor with the city of Gloucester? If no laws are being broken then is this ethical?
I have looked over a few years worth of council meeting minutes and have found that councilman Hutchinson has voted to approve bills for payment. Some of those bills were from the vendor that he resides with.
Could you pass this email on to all members of council and the city attorney? Could you cc me when this is sent to them?
I await your response to my questions
Thank you

RESPONSE FROM GLOUCESTER CITY ATTORNEY JOHN KEARNEY
"I would not respond and I would suggest that as a policy your office should not respond to anonymous inquiries other than appropriate OPRA requests. If there is a follow-up inquiry to this I suggest your response to that be" “It is the policy of this office not to respond to anonymous inquiries. Thank you.” john

For OPRA yes. But there is not any law that requires you to respond to this. It is a matter of common courtesy and being polite. And before you do something that could result in a criminal investigation there should be something or someone real as the instigation. I just do not believe it is a good idea to respond to something like this because frankly the correct response would be a referral to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and I am not inclined to do that until there is some showing of legitimacy like a real name.
I was told in every class we have to respond to anonymous inquiries
